Jay Duret's intelligent humor makes this book a must read for people of all ages. The plots were often way over the top (or somewhere out of left field) and McLanahan and Co. It appears to have been written for those seeking accomodation in Manhattan's (not New York of the five boroughs) prewar apartment buildings.
