This is a book I read from beginning to end in a couple of sittings. Hurston's writing is most interesting as the whole African American experience is shared from her own perspective. I had previously sent her a Milne's Winnie the Pooh book, which proved a little too advanced for her, but from what I have heard back so far, she apparently really loves the pictures and stories in this book. The accompanying soundtrack is incredible too. Author definitely has an imagination. He lives outside of Buffalo, NY. Think of the letters in Ken Burns's Civil War documentaries: the flat, unaffected pronouncements of men facing deathor dealing it. It take a lot for a book to keep and hold my attention throughout. This simple, motivational biography gives readers a glimpse into the life of Olympic champion Jessica Ennis, shining a light on her career, her upbringing, and her involvement in sport. If you are looking for a dark Duke who is afraid to love, don't buy. The book is a perfect way to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the jungle man’s first appearance. Gave as a gift to a new graduate student and future grad student.
